Commandaria
Commandaria is a red sweet wine from Cyprus. It's a wine that I first tried at the Oenou Yi winery in Cyprus. This wine is comprised of the Xynisteri and Mavro grapes which are indigenous to Cyprus.
Jorel's notes
It's Commandaria. Is there anything more to say?
Commandaria is my favourite sweet wine. It's got a standard sweet wine texture - slightly syrupy, and has a sweet taste on the palate. It includes a fairly subtle spice flavour and some raisin flavours. Unlike typical sweet wines which are almost sickly and practically unbearable on their own, Commandaria is actually fairly easy to drink on its own. Like typical sweet wines, they pair exceptionally well with desserts. Recently, I tried it with some mochi and it paired very well.
